The General Election is Coming

The announcement this week of a General Election is exciting news. Finally we the public will get a chance to show this cruel Conservative Government the door. Here are my thoughts on why it's so important we take this chance to vote Liberal Democrat.

As a secondary school teacher who cares deeply about young people. I have seen how budget cuts in education and the cost of living crisis have hurt our youth. The Westminster Conservatives have taken away the future of an entire generation. If elected, I promise to work hard to give that future back to our young people.

Many local residents feel let down by the choices offered by Conservative and Labour politicians in Westminster. Our country's reputation has suffered because of unfair policies towards asylum seekers and ongoing attacks on human rights. I promise to restore our reputation by ending the cruel Rwanda policy immediately.

If elected, I will work to strengthen our ties with our European neighbours. I want to make the UK a great place to live and work, welcoming back the essential workers we need. I will address the long delays in dentistry and healthcare by making the UK a welcoming place for professionals from across Europe.

Additionally, I will tackle the hypocrisy where individuals can be fined for waste violations, while water companies can dump millions of tonnes of raw sewage into our rivers and coastal waters and still receive huge bonuses. I will work to make these bonuses illegal and stop the harmful dumping.

If like me you think there are far better things our government should be doing than:

  • Lining the pockets of their rich friends,
  • Partying in the midst of a global pandemic,
  • Dumping sewage in our waterways,
  • Laughing at us all
